i think these lyrics are about how there is uncontrollable sin inside of us and its hard to keep it in and we let it boil to our skin.
I think that the vidio shows how his monster inside of him is breaking through and slowly making its way to the world and by the end the sin is out.
The vidio matched what I thought because it show how the monster is caged and wanting to get out and evenchualy it does
One thing about the vidio and the song is that we can controll our sin, but we just choose not to and let it free unlike the song and vidio show that we cant controll it it gets loose through us and we cant do anything to stop it.
The song shows how we have so much sin even though we fallow christ and are chistians. we can tell people in this world that we can sin just as much as them and that it is just harder to sin than it is for non-belivers because the love of Jesus christ turns us in a better direction. we just somtime dont use his advice and we sin and after we sin i feels like we cant controll it even though God always has a way out.

This is funny after watching the movie at the 5th quarter, I so don’t like monsters! Have not watched the video but the words beg for someone to come save him, make it end? what as christians can we do to stop this monster in us? can we do anything? is this monster in everybody? or is this song a clever assembly of words to sell CD’s? Does it have any application to us?
I am with you on the monster thing bill— this song brings to mind some scripture verses as well— Can any of you tie this song to the Word? (Good starting point-Romans 7 and 8)! What does the Bible say about the ‘monster’ inside of us?
I think this video means the monster is like sin and satan and how satan wants us to sin, the words, “it wants my soul, it wants my heart,” kinda tell what satan wants, it want the monster of sin to come out, and sometimes it does and we feel like monsters, and God is the only one who can save us.

Jen I agree with you and I think there is a monster inside of everyone at some point and it seems like we can’t controll it like the lyrics say but I dissagree that there is no way out because there is and all we have to do is look to god and find out how we were traped in our sin and get out and turn away from it for as long as we can stand it.
Yes jar jar binks if we look to God, the monster inside of us can be gone. but we aren’t perfect, so the monster will always be inside of us, tempting us and sometimes it just comes out. yes sin is like our little secret section in our heart but God helps us control the monster
okay so number 1. I think that the main point of these lyrics is to confess that we know we have sinned and that we need to Control the monster like Ebad said then 2. the video kinda made no sense to me but 3. the video i thought would be hard core loud screaming song and i was right he is yelling that he is a monster and 4. it speaks by letting us know the monster inside, to the communtiy to show that we are a christian on the outside and the inside and it can be a blessing to us by confessing that we are a monster

wow good thinking about all the Qs silly girl. 1.to me the lyrics are trying to say the writter is trying with all his might to comtain anger, sin and/or adictions to things. one thing i was wondering about but forgot to ask at youth is i have some people around at me at school that say they would posibly believe if they know who or how the creator was there or created himself, all i told them way that god always was and that i believe he ceated every thing, is there anything else that would be good to tell them?
in the song it says how are sin can take over us and we arn’t ourselfs. In Romans 7:17 it says, “As it is it is no longer my self who do it, but it is the sin LIVING in me.” As you can see I capitalized living because in the song it says there is a monster in him and a monster is considered somthing that is living (in movies) and just like our sin its settling down in us because like Romans 7:18 says, “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.” which is saying that sin is in us and it is our nature to do it.
in the video i think it ment was that he was born bad and is still running from sin but isn’t very succsessful. In Romans 7:19 it says, “For I have the desire to do what is good, but I can not carry it out.” Meaning from the video that he is trying to do good but sin is still fallowing him and he can’t loose it until the end which is very bright and good. And best of all away from sin.
I see a lot of you talking about trying to ‘fight’ or ‘contain’ or ‘control’ the monster inside ourselves…… is this something we are able to do? How is it possible to deal with our “monster”?

The idea of something eternal can be a struggle, but one way to redirect them is ask about the beginning of the Universe…what was there before it? And if they say nothing, ask them how that’s possible or if they can describe it. The burden of proof is actually on them to prove He does NOT exist. Last,ask me about the watch example on wed.
and you have some great points. I, too believe that the Monster he is talking about is our sin nature that Paul talks about in Romans. I struggle with the desire to do what I do not want to do, but that I often end up doing. silly girl, it would be hard to sing about a monster in lullaby form lol

Well if we become stronger in our faith, we can help others get to know Jesus and help them see the light. If you can discuss your faith with your friends, you can develop a closer relationship with God and with your friends. The point of the video is to show the monster, always getting tormented by others, confused, but at the end they see the light.
Also we are being watched by people all the time. Also at the end it shows that we can sometimes “shut out” sin. Sometimes though, like when the glass door starts breaking, sin just comes out.
EBad ur totally right. Basiclly ur being weighed down by sin and its keeping u away from the path god wants u to be on. And u feel like a monster cuz u want to get back on the path u were on but sin is holding u back!

Yeah, because we are being tempted every day, and sometimes we can control it but sometimes we cant. yes, I think sin can be described as ugly or bad or just something to stay away from.
i have a question. ( it’s not on this topic, but it’s driving me insane.) i have a non-christan friend, and i want to indroduce her to God. but other people have been saying to them that they’re going to go to hell if they dont beleive( which they are, but it offended them) how can i show her what God’s like, with out rubbing something in her face?

Well, princess leia, first you can bring her to youth group. then, try to get some talking about God and talk about him. if that works, you might try bringing her to church a couple times.
Princess, that’s a great question. Jesus is offensive, He even said so Himself. If we aren’t offended by Him we don’t get Him at some point. A great person once said, something like share Jesus with people and if necessary use words..in other words love them, be nice to them, help them just like Jesus would. THen when they ask why in the world you are so nice you can tell them its cuz Jesus loved you first. Don’t just wait for your youth leaders to tell them, love them in tangible ways first. New video is on its way so for everyone else go find Bible verses that support the Monster idea….

I think that this video is talking about how people can only hold in their anger for a limited time, and that we just cant hold it in any longer. sometimes I feel like that, but I guess all you have to do is pray to God for help! Its so simple that it is hard to believe, so sometimes I dont even think about praying. There are sooooo many people that blogged!
I had to kind of think about this video, I really enjoyed the music! As I listened to the song, I realized that I really am a monster! The video surprised me at the end when the guy said that God STILL loves us no matter how monster-like we are.
i think what hes trying to say in this one is that he feels blocked away from god and like a monster so he is tryoing to find his way back to god by breaking himself out of the monster.
