Here is the video, here are the questions:

1. What is the main point of the lyrics?
2. What is the point of the video?
3. Did the video match up to what you thought the lyrics were saying? How so, or how not?
4. How does this song speak to what we believe? How we belong to community? How we can be a blessing to those around us?

  1. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

    Hello…? anybody there?

  2. bj the kid says:

The words used to describe God’s love are great, really make you think. I actually liked reading the lyrics until I got to “sinking a ship” ? only word to rhyme with “grip” I guess!

  3. Watchtower says:

I have to say, that was probably the most random video ever. I have made comments on the previous video, but basically I think that the lyrics are saying that nothing can match how much God loves us. It too big, and glorious, and magnificent our teeny tiny selfish brains can’t even get CLOSE to comprehending His love for us. And He won’t leave us. Ever. No matter what we do, He will always love us and be willing to open our arms to let us crawl in and cry. Only our God would do that. Forever. It’s….mind-boggoling to imagine.

  4. luci says:

ok ellie, but is there a connection between the lyrics and the video?

  5. Ninja Squirrel says:

Okay, I am strongly considering to changing my name after watching that video… :P Any ways, that video was SO COOL! I loved how all the little squirrels gathered together in one big army. But yeah I agree Ellie, Gods love is too much for our little squirrel minds to even FATHOM (notice I used fathom). I think the video matches up with the lyrics by when it says “love to impossible and true” that part kinda matches with the video when the squirrels are all being hypnotized and dancing to the music and being like, paralysed by the music (gods love).

  6. Reepicheep says:

Yeah, I might change mine to……mabey.
Well I think that the lyrics are like the vido because in lyrics it says that god is always there and in the vido David Crowder’s Band is always there for him to protect him and Daivd seemed to have faith that his band would be there. like we SHOULD with god. And thats one of the few things I could find that related.

  7. Watchtower says:

Yes, I think it does, because sometimes we fight with God, (like the squirrel and David at the beginning, but in the end, we realize that God (David) loves us. We are the squirrels, because even though David did nothing wrong, we still test (throw nuts at) God.:)

  8. Watchtower says:

Sometimes we get so overwhelmed (like the battle) of God’s love. But we need to realize that love and unite, to create Godtimus Prime, and love the world to death.

  9. chipmunk fury says:

Yeah Amy, what should we do? well, I changed my name :P . I agree Ellie, we are the big rebellion squirrel army. we think that our big huge robot squirrel and our huge army can beat God. NOOOOOOOOOPPPEEE!!! God probably just stares at us as if we are crazy, and then he starts loving us, and that love alone can blow our entire army of squirrels away.

  10. Luckyduck says:

When the lyrics say by givining up gaining everything its pretty much saying how when we give up all the stuff on earth that we own or want we gain everything and more in heaven. And its saying that when we love someone on earth it can’t match God’s undying unfailing love for us, and he loves us for ETERNITY! I really dont know how long that is but I’m thinking its pretty darn long! :)

  11. luci says:

I am amazed at your ability to come up with answers, cuz I would say the video has nothing to do with the lyrica :) and that’s a point I want to discuss this week. Does everything a believer does have to specifically point to God? I really really really super like this video cuz its so random and funny!

  12. Kenzie-Wan Kenobi says:

i haven’t seen the video yet,but the lyrics and video dont’ seem to be related! our we gonig to watch the video thsi wed.? anyway, there’s alot of people at school who down right trash God. it unglues me!!!! if i were God, i would strike him with lightning, but he still love thoughs who don’t beleive in him or even hate him!!! we don’t love people that we hate!!!! it’s SOOOOO amazing!!!

  13. Kenzie-Wan Kenobi says:

i don’t see what squirrels have to do with God’s undying, never failing love?!?!?

    • Reepicheep says:

well i think that it is like the amount of hate that david and the squirrels is an example of how much god has for us (not even close to his real love for us) except in the vidio it is hate and strong disliking, enough to want to harm each other.

  14. chipmunk fury says:

Well, our first performance was kind of a fail. But I remembered my lines!!! There were so many pauses in the play, my friend timed one of the pauses and it was three minutes!! Three awkward minutes of the audience staring and everyone on stage not saying anything. Besides all that failness, we did great! The end was amazing and the kids loved it.

  15. chipmunk fury says:

Well KWK, it’s just like…an analogy or something. Yeah, the squirrels were really random, but believe it or not, that’s probably just what we look like to God. All of us are all like, “kill, kill” when God can blink and we could all die right in front of him.
Tomorrow is our play! EVERYONE COME! (even though it might be a fail… :P )

  16. Watchtower says:

Well Jen, I think yes, everything we do should point specifically to God. I we’re constantly thinking and loving God, everything we do should revolve around God. If our behavior is bad, then we should ask for forgiveness and show that we’re sorry to others.

  17. luci says:

Ellie, so are you shouting Jesus’ name when you’re playing volleyball? Is David Crowder wrong for not making his video match up?

To all: Answer question #4 for this week and we’ll watch the video on next wed. Also remember Christ group is different this weekend.

    • Watchtower says:

Well, no, not out loud, but my actions should show it, or on the inside I should be. That’s what the video is saying though. We don’t always, but God still forgives us, after He shows us that we’re wrong, (like beating our robot up).

  18. chipmunk fury says:

I think this song speaks to what we believe by us (the squirrels) hated God, but no matter what, God still loves us. He could destroy us whenever he wants (so I advise “behave well!!…). I guess the music that controlled the squirrels (or what ever it did) was like God’s love like Ellie kinda said. We are just so amazed at God’s love that we could die or get stuck in giant…floating…BUBBLES! :P See you guys at church!

  19. luci says:

ummm, good answer chip, but we are going to go with the video not matching the lyrics lol. so, based on that how does the song speak to what we believe, belong, and bless….

  20. PEACE OUT says:

So.. I can’t watch the video here.. Computer wont allow it.. :( but I have something exraordinary to tell you guys!

So… This week, Wednesday, My Grandpa died from extreme Liver Cancer.. I’m sad, and so is my mom. My mom missed my performance on Wednesday so she could say some last words to my Grandpa before he dies, and to comfort my Grandma. But on Thursday afternoon, when she came home, she told me some very cool, and remarkable stories about his last breaths.. Here the are:

My grandpa was put on some meds, and he was extremely comfortable.. Like cant feel any pain. And slowly his heart rate would decrease.. And the whole time, his eyes were glassy and open. Non-blinking. Everyone (Mom, Grandma, Aunt, My mom’s Aunt, and My aunt’s boyfriend: Jesse) were touching a leg/arm.. And when his heart monitor went flat, my Grandma burst into tears, and was sobbing remarkably loud. My mom sqeezed his hand, and ran over to my Grandma and hugged her. My grandma heard her crying, and his heart monitor jumped alive, and his heart worked.. Then it went flat again.. And once again, when my grandma started crying, it jumped to life.. And finally, it went flat.. And stayed flat.

Here’s my second one: You remember how I said that my grandpa kept his eyes open the whole time, right? Well, when he started drifting away from body, and he relaxed his eyes.. They closed. When he did, he pulled the most brilliant, excited face that ever existed on earth. He closed his eyes, and immediately scrunched up his nose, and smiled hugely.. Like he saw somebody that he hasnt seen in over 30 years.. That he’s been dying to see. Now, when my mom was 15, her brother Dan, 16, died in a car accident. My grandpa took it the hardest of all. When he closed his eyes on his last day, my mom started crying happy tears, because she knew who he saw. Waiting there for his father, was Dan.. My mom’s brother. And of course.. Jesus.

Here’s the last one: When my mom was on her way to a hotel/motel (she stayed the night in Anecortes), the sky was completely black all around her. She was listening to ‘Talking To The Moon’ by Bruno Mars (if you havent heard it before.. It’s a very moving song.), and she started balling. My grandpa saw, and the sky immediatly shed sunlight, and the light beamed in through her window, surrounding her in warmth. She felt in her heart that her dad was watching over her, and telling her that he fine, great even.. And not to worry.

All three of these stories moved me, and caused me to cry. I hope they show you that death can be a good thing.. Especially if they are in tons of pain.

    • Splash says:

THAT WAS TODALLY AWSOME!!!!! (not the whole the thing~sorry for your loss :( ) theanx for sharing such a cool and toughting story…. I IS SO AWSOME HOW GOD WORKS… EVEN THROUGH DEATH! :)

  21. PEACE OUT says:

wow. That’s really… REALLY long. Oopsies! I just crammed like.. three stories into it :P

  22. PEACE OUT says:

In the third paragraph.. It should say ‘my grandpa heard her crying’

    • Reepicheep says:

Well i really enjoyed readin gabout how many different ways god comes into your life and will help in so many ways, thanks for sharing your great(long), but great story with us. It is a really cool story.

  23. Miracles says:

I changed my name to Miracles, because I now believe that anything can happen if you are in Jesus’ hands.

  24. Watchtower says:

Danielle, that made me cry too. It’s just amazing, the miracles and extraordinary events that seem to happen at just the right time. Those tell us that our God cares for us. Well, this video shows what happens in real life. We “bug” God, He kindly, but firmly, corrects us, and forgives us. It’s how we should be in life. We can’t hold grudges against each other, and we need to forgive each other, and help one another with that.

  25. luci says:

yep, Danielle you made me cry to with the smiling part. I miss my dad very much and his death is still pretty fresh. Thank you for sharing.
EVERYONE: Take the week off of blogging. see you next wed! love you!

  26. chewbaka says:

(this is lily by the way) I am sorry about your grandpa Danielle, that is always hard. But that is so cool how he smiled at the end, I wonder if he was meeting Jesus. I can’t wait to meet him! That would be so cool if he came down right before school started! :P :) By the way, I got contacts, they feel really weird…but I can SEE!!

  27. Splash says:

well, hellow hehe. I really love david crowder and his band~expecaly in cocert~

THe main point of the lyrics were to describe how incretible the love of god is… how anazing and wonderfulie indesribly great he is! How we can mess up so bad and yet that dosent even second geuss his love for us…. how any human on the face of this planet couldnt hav the love and every thing else that the lord our God! creatir of heven and earth artist of the sunset!……….. WOW … WOW just close your eyes and think about that….. he spoke words … and they were! I speak words and every one tells me to be quiet haha…. but seriously WOW!!!!!!!!
    (sorry for my bad spelling!)
    ~ Avery :D

  28. Splash says:

hellow…. we have worship this week???? caz no one it sayin any thing :0

  29. Smeka-Choo says:

Yes I pretty sure we do at least jen said we did. didn’t you?

  30. luci says:

ALright bloggers, you now you must blog lol. DId the video match the lyrics? How does this challenge us to be towards others?

  31. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

no the video did NOT match up with the lyrics!!!! even though it was pretty amusing!!! :) i think that thsi challenges us to love other more. even the losers and the people we dont like. no matter what. since God loves us, even we’re being annoying and mean, ( kinda like the squirrels) he still loves us.

  32. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

ur story made me cry too Danny!!! it reminds me of when Bev died:(.

  33. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

    it was very touching though!

  34. Smeka-Choo says:

I think that it din’t match very much because it is just a bunch of angry squirrels throughing nuts at david chrowder because they don’t like his music and that has nothing, i think, to do with the lyrics. And I agree with kenzzie that the vidio makes us want to love others, but also I think it is rrespect that we need to show others(like what we did at the prinsess night) and respect their ideas and their culture even if you don’t like it!(THE SQUIRRELS DIDN”T LIKE THE MUSIC. And I think that even though this is kind of different, but it is that how david depended on his band, now a days, we depend on technology to do things for us and we are not connected to people as close when all we do is text eachother even though you are only a few feet away and have dinner and someones house. How rude this generation is getting! Sometimes, i wish that there was no such thing as a CELL phone therefore no texting and probally no such thing as a i pad or things that we depend on to do stuff for us.

  35. Smeka-Choo says:

“Under the sea! Under the sea! It’s so much betta, where it is wetta, Unda the sea!”

    (HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE)

  36. chewbaka says:

Yeah, I don’t think the video and words matched that great either. I agree Smeeka-Choo! Those misbehaved miserable excuses for maggot poop! (in other words…the squirrels…in other words…us) They should be respectful like princesses (like you said). This generation is getting rude Smeeka, people take the lords name in vain and swear and say things like poop and other words that mean poop. I really can’t wait till God comes down to earth, I hope he does while I’m alive, that would be AMAZING!

  37. chewbaka says:

    What’s the password?!

  38. chewbaka says:

    (I didn’t mean to post that) continued…

    What?
    Nope.
    Open this door!
    Not even close!

  39. auntie says:

strange girls that you are lol :) I don’t believe the lyrics match up with the video either, but I do believe the video is still great! I think it is a reminder to us that as believers we can have fun and be dorky and still honor God. People think that Christians are stick in the muds and no fun, but it doesn’t have to be true. So, I think we need to believe that God is awesome, amazing, and fun (really) and that will make us blessings to others by showing them that GOd is more than angry judgement and that will make our community a better place to be till like chewbaka says He comes back. Which I hope is tomorrow :) but if not then tell me what you think about what I just said and find Scripture this week to back it up.

  40. Watchtower says:

Yeah, I don’t think all of the video really matches, but parts of it do. I think this challenges us to love. To know when to love and know how to love, and to love everyone.

  41. Watchtower says:

Haha today, in class, we were discussing a poem, and we were talking about the theme, and I was like, “It’s the circle of life!”

  42. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

the generation is getting rudier! good thing God promised no more wiping out the world with big floods!!!! but even though some people cheapin the name of God, and other rude things, God still loves us!

  43. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

” i beleive this is the man you’re looking for.”
    ” Yooooou got me!”

    heheheheheehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!

  44. Kenzie-Wan-Kenobi says:

i love that line!!1 me and Amy drive people CRAAAAZY with that line!

  45. Watchtower says:

The lyrics also talk about how we need to love Him, and show Him undivided love and worship to Him. “By giving up, gaining everything, Falling for You for Eternity.”

  46. luci says:

Thanks ladies….got any Scripture to back up what you’re saying? New lyrics should be up tomorrow. See you at Holy Ground tonight :)

  47. Surgei At Your Service says:

Well i think the lyris are talkin about how Jesus died for us and we need to remember that and not forget his great sacrifice just to save sinners like us.

  48. Surgei At Your Service says:

The point of the video is that its showing how Gods love is never failing.

  49. Surgei At Your Service says:

Well i think it also shows that we can also go to God no matter what we have done we can always, ALWAYS go to him.
